Inner City Outreach“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.” SALT is an excellent tool for Inner City ministries. The lessons are easy to understand and share with others. Participants are deeply impacted by lessons like Forgiveness and Rejection. “When I saw the rejection diagram, I was so excited. I thought, ‘That’s my life on paper and someone understands it, and not only understands it, but they are showing me how to get out of that trap.’” Teen Challenge in Arizona uses principles from SALT to disciple in their ministry. Our ministry at Teen Challenge really deals with life controlling issues such as addiction and alcoholism. The seven areas of life training really address some of the root issues that we face in dealing with these issues. The simple straight forward approach that VCL uses makes difficult concepts easy to grasp and apply to daily life.
Several of my staff that has attended these intensive classes have used this information to overcome their issues and are using the information to disciple our students.
